Who called me from 01619610008?

Said it was BT calling about my internet. I said thank you, I don’t have a problem & I hung up

Caller pretended to be from BT Openreach, apparently my IP address had been compromised and there were a few steps that they were going to run through to help me rectify it. They couldn't confirm any details about me other than the number they called me on and my business name which is publicly available, when I asked them to confirm my address they gave me an address that I hadn't lived at for over 4 years. The number they called from was 01619610008

This number calls pretending to be what appears to be various companies, trying to con the person who answers. Today they called pretending to be from Booking.Com They were trying to obtain the business hardware IP addresses! Idiots, Someone will get caught out though! Don’t even engage with anyone wanting business or hardware information ever! Hang up and call you providers back direct from another phone and never on any advised or attach or return call back numbers. Only use numbers in your agreements. Remember anything can be cloned, so be alert and aware.

Called claiming to be from Virgin but hung up when I asked what he wanted

Someone with a strong Asian accent pretending to be a Microsoft employee. I told him not to bother me and that all of my computers are Apple. He put the phone down. The worst kind of parasitic worm preying on the unwary to defraud them of all the posess. Should be whipped to within a millimetre of life itself.
