Miss Dizzy
8 Months AgoI believe the London number I have listed to be a scam announced number waiting for patients to respond whereby they immediately have to give their extended personal medical details before they can book an ambulance. I have contacted the ambulance system to report what I believe to be a scam and, I’m told, it will now be investigated. However, I am not sure I was speaking with a legit employee of the ambulance services because, of all the 8 department listings that one can choose from , whilst waiting for a response, not once did I get their usual message …..we are very busy but will be with you asap. This legit system has a listing of 10 different numbers to contact. Head office is an 0845 number. The person I spoke to …I gave no personal details other than to tel that person that I believe the system is being used by scammers to obtain vulnerable patients personal details which can have catastrophic problems for those answering 02031480918. I have informed the person I spoke with that I am legitimately a Scam Marshall for trading standards UK. The responder said she would google the number, which she did, then told me it is not listed under the free ambulance service. However, she asked me no personal details which they always do before they will proceed further. I’m most sceptical of any real investigation to this concern. I shall inform Trading standards and the NHS health minister. I just hope that I am wrong and simply being over cautious as all of us should be when answering telephone calls. If you have read my comments and are a vulnerable patient I suggest you do not use the free call or the web site. Thank you for reading my cautionary comments.
